The fact is that the Boers are a people all by themselves - they have their own unique history, their own traditions, own festive days, political dispensation, political philosophy, they had their own territory (state), own symbols, own flags, anthems and so on - ALL DEVELOPED IN AFRICA! The Boers want an exclusive independent territory, just as they had before the white colonialists took it away from them in 1902. Nothing more and nothing less will satisfy them. This has nothing to do with race or racism - merely the desire of an indigenous people to be themselves and to rule themselves in their own territory. The Boervolk fully endorses the 46 Articles of the Draft Declaration of the UN's Sub Commission on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and it wishes to play a supportive role in obtaining those ideals for whoever qualifies for such recognition. The Boers are the only white nation in South Africa who justify the status of an indigenous people who may rightfully lay claim to self-government in an own geographical area.
